European leaders and other allies gathered in London on Sunday to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine.
This meeting followed a challenging visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the United States, where he faced criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance in Washington on Friday. In contrast, Zelenskyy was warmly welcomed in London during a special summit.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer brought together what he described as a “coalition of the willing,” a group committed to continuing their support for Kyiv and presenting a peace plan to the United States. However, the coalition emphasized that, despite their unity, the involvement of the U.S. remains essential.
The question now arises: how will the Trump administration’s increasingly friendly relations with Moscow, combined with its public reprimand of Ukraine’s leader, impact the prospects of a ceasefire and the future of transatlantic ties?
