Musk Accuses Soros and Hoffman of Financing Protests Against Tesla

Elon Musk Blames George Soros, Reid Hoffman, and Others for Tesla Protests

Elon Musk is pointing fingers at left-wing billionaire George Soros, Democratic mega-donor and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and others, accusing them of funding nationwide protests against his electric car company, Tesla. Musk claims these protests have turned destructive, targeting Tesla dealerships, vehicles, and charging stations.

While it’s unclear if the protests are directly linked to incidents of vandalism, some Tesla vehicles and charging stations have been damaged or destroyed. On Sunday morning, Musk took to his social media platform X to announce that an investigation allegedly identified five ActBlue-funded groups responsible for organizing the Tesla protests: Troublemakers, Disruption Project, Rise & Resist, Indivisible Project, and the Democratic Socialists of America.

Musk named several ActBlue funders he believes are backing these protests, including Soros and Hoffman. He also stated that ActBlue is currently under investigation for allegedly allowing foreign and illegal donations, violating campaign finance regulations. ActBlue is a Democratic fundraising platform that has raised millions of dollars for Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign and affiliated entities.

Musk added that seven senior ActBlue officials, including the associate general counsel, resigned this week. He encouraged anyone with information to share it in the replies to his post.

Tesla owners, dealerships, and charging stations have been targeted nationwide by protesters and vandals, partly due to Musk’s involvement with the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aims to reduce wasteful spending and fraud within the federal government.

The organization Indivisible, founded by former Democratic congressional staffers, previously called on liberals to protest Musk’s actions, even providing a “tool kit” with recommendations on how to “take the fight to Elon.”

On Saturday, protesters rallied outside Tesla dealerships, holding signs denouncing Musk and DOGE, including in Decatur, Georgia, according to The Associated Press (AP). Earlier in the week, an Oregon Tesla dealership, located 10 miles south of Portland, was targeted by gunshots, damaging multiple cars and shattering windows.

In Salem, Oregon, a man was arrested after Molotov cocktails were thrown at a Tesla dealership, as reported by the Salem Statesman-Journal. Additionally, several Tesla charging stations in Massachusetts have been set on fire.

Brookline police recently arrested a Boston man allegedly caught on video tagging Tesla vehicles with Musk decals and sharing the footage on X. Last week, federal authorities in Colorado charged 42-year-old Lucy Grace Nelson, also known as Justin Thomas Nelson, after explosives and concerning messages were found at a Colorado Tesla dealership.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., expressed concerns about lawmakers’ rhetoric regarding Musk in an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, stating that attacking Musk has become politically advantageous for some.

Fox News Digital reached out to Soros and Hoffman for comment but did not receive a response.
