Now that Ramadan 2025 has officially begun, those fasting from sunrise to sunset may already be experiencing symptoms such as low energy, increased fatigue, or changes in gut health. Before searching for solutions, remember that these reactions are normal. The key to a healthy Ramadan lies in making thoughtful adjustments at every stage to ensure your body stays nourished throughout the month. To help you plan your meals, fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala shares what she eats during the holy month.
In a video posted on Instagram, Yasmin reveals, "At Suhur, I start with a couple of pieces of watermelon. Next, I have a scoop of plant-based protein powder with water. Then, I have one egg and two egg whites in a burji with one to two slices of Sado bread. Finally, I drink water with electrolytes."
When breaking her fast, Yasmin begins with a date (khajur), followed by jaggery-sweetened lemonade. After enjoying a refreshing fruit salad topped with chia seeds, she eats chicken kebabs for protein. "I wait all day for my cup of coffee. Even though caffeine is dehydrating, I love it. For dinner, I have a Mediterranean chicken bowl, which is essentially a fancy way to eat chicken, veggies, and rice," she adds.
Yasmin concludes her day with a piece of dark chocolate.
The caption on her post reads, "Balanced, nourishing, and delicious! Here’s how I eat during Ramadan. What are your Ramadan essentials?"
