A Florida woman received an unexpected surprise when a police officer ended up delivering her pizza after an eight-foot alligator was discovered hiding under a vehicle in her driveway.
The Bradenton Police Department shared a video of the encounter on X, showcasing Officer Tolson responding to the call. The department’s post humorously read, “Pizza… with a side of gator? Officer Tolson responded to calls about an 8-foot gator in a 55+ community, intercepted a terrified pizza delivery driver, and ensured a hungry customer was fed (and a hungry gator wasn’t). All in a day’s work!”
Body camera footage captured the officer warning a pizza delivery woman to stop upon arriving due to the massive alligator. The delivery driver expressed her fear, saying, “I’m a little scared.” Officer Tolson reassured her that as long as the alligator remained under the car, she could go around to the back of the house. However, she eventually handed the pizza and receipt to Tolson, asking, “Do you want to do it, officer?”
A neighbor called the woman who had ordered the pizza, advising her not to come out the front door because of the alligator. Despite the warning, the woman opened the door and was immediately told by Tolson to stay inside. She exclaimed, “Oh my God! My heavens! There’s an alligator under my car!”
When the woman asked about her pizza, Tolson instructed her to go back inside and said he would meet her at the back door with the order. Upon meeting at the back door, the woman handed Tolson cash and asked how much she owed. The officer admitted he didn’t know, as he wasn’t the delivery person. The woman, surprised, asked, “You’re a policeman? They called you?”
After exchanging the pizza for cash, the woman requested a photo of the alligator. To ensure her safety, Tolson used her phone to snap a picture of the massive reptile before it was removed from the scene.
