Insurance brokerage Lockton has appointed Øyvind Larsen as the CEO of Lockton Norway, with the role set to take effect on 1 April 2025.

With over 30 years of experience, Larsen joined the company in December 2023 to lead its People Solutions unit in Norway.

Prior to this, he held several senior leadership roles at Aon, including head of health and benefits in Norway, during his more than 25-year tenure at the company.

His expertise spans employee benefits, risk solutions, and strategic client management.

In his new role, Larsen will focus on unifying Lockton Norway’s specialist businesses to ensure they “collectively” and “effectively” support clients.

Larsen said: “Lockton is fundamentally different from the larger, traditional brokers. While other players are focused on maintaining their position, we are investing and expanding our capabilities. My role is to bring all these parts together and ensure we are delivering better value to our clients in Norway.

“At the same time, I am committed to building a team that thrives in Lockton’s dynamic, employee- and client-first culture. Our ability to empower our associates is one of our greatest strengths.”

Lockton Europe CEO EJ Hentenaar said: “Øyvind’s appointment is another step forward in Lockton’s ambitious growth strategy in the Nordics. His deep industry expertise, leadership style, and client-centric approach make him the right leader to drive our expansion in Norway.

“Lockton is committed to investing in this region, and with Øyvind at the helm, we are confident that Lockton Norway will continue to strengthen its market position and deliver outstanding results to clients.”

Lockton was established in Norway in 2011, initially focusing on professional and executive risk solutions. Over time, it expanded its presence into marine, people solutions, energy, renewables, and complex risks segments.

Last month, Lockton launched a new specialized insurance facility called BESS Lock, designed to simplify coverage for battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.
