A FedEx cargo plane made an emergency landing at Newark Airport in New Jersey on Saturday morning after a bird strike caused one of its engines to catch fire, an airport official told Fox News Digital.
Dramatic video footage shows the plane banking to the right as a large plume of smoke erupts from the aircraft, with flames visible from its right engine.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion, and in one video, someone can be heard frantically shouting, “Oh my God, oh my God.”
Another video captures the FedEx cargo plane landing safely despite the engine still being on fire.
There were no reported injuries, and the plane touched down at 8:07 a.m., according to the official. It remains unclear how many people were on board at the time. Air traffic at the airport was briefly halted as a precaution but has since resumed, the official added.
