Mumbai Indians secured a convincing 47-run victory over Gujarat Giants to advance to the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 final on Thursday. Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt delivered standout performances, helping MI dominate the game from the start. Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Tilak Varma were present to watch the WPL match and were seen enthusiastically supporting the women’s team as they secured their win. The franchise shared a video on social media capturing the Mumbai Indians men’s team players watching and celebrating the victory.

Nat Sciver-Brunt and Hayley Matthews powered Mumbai Indians to their second WPL final with their explosive batting, setting the foundation for the team’s 47-run triumph over Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator.

After a slow start in the powerplay, Sciver-Brunt (77 off 41) and Matthews (77 off 50) unleashed their force, propelling Mumbai Indians to a formidable total of 213 for four. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur (36 off 12) added the finishing touches with a brisk cameo.

Gujarat Giants struggled both in the field and with the ball, and their chase was marred by self-inflicted errors, including three run-outs. Their innings concluded at 166 all out in 19.2 overs, with Matthews also contributing with the ball, taking two wickets.

This marked Mumbai Indians’ seventh consecutive victory over the Giants in WPL history. Having won the inaugural edition in 2023, Mumbai Indians will now face Delhi Capitals in the final on Saturday.
