Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently introduced the Fortuner Legender with a manual transmission, followed by the Hilux Black Edition. Now, the brand has updated the safety features of the Innova Hycross Hybrid available in the Indian market. The update includes the addition of the Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS). Despite this enhancement, the vehicle’s price remains unchanged.
The AVAS feature will be available on the VX, VX(O), ZX, and ZX(O) variants of the Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid. This system is designed to ensure pedestrian safety during the silent operation of hybrid or electric vehicles. It achieves this by emitting artificial sounds at low speeds, primarily in areas such as parking lots, city streets, and residential neighborhoods. The sound is engineered to be noticeable without being disruptive.

In addition to AVAS, the Innova Hycross Hybrid comes equipped with several other safety features, including a 360-degree camera, six airbags, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), hill-hold assist, vehicle stability control, and a suite of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, automatic high beam, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane keep assist, among others. The vehicle also offers a range of comfort and convenience features, such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, memory and ventilation for the front seats, a powered tailgate, and more.
The Innova Hycross is available with two petrol engine options: a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 173 hp of power and 209 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a CVT automatic transmission, and a 2.0-liter strong hybrid petrol engine that delivers a combined power output of 184 hp, equipped with an e-Drive transmission. Toyota claims that the hybrid variant offers a fuel efficiency of 23.24 kmpl, while the standard petrol versions achieve a fuel efficiency of 16.13 kmpl.
